FallingTree Mod Server Setup Guide

A server installation adds one more compatibility layer: the server’s Minecraft version and mod loader must match the FallingTree file, and players need clear expectations about any client-side requirements created by your configuration.

Back up before changing the mod set

Create a restorable copy of the world, server configuration, and current mod list before installing or updating. This gives you a clean recovery path if a loader or mod conflict appears.

Match the server loader exactly

A Fabric server needs the Fabric build, Forge needs Forge, and NeoForge needs NeoForge. Confirm the exact Minecraft version too. Avoid assuming that a file for a nearby version will work.

Install dependencies alongside the mod

Read the official release dependency information for the loader you use. For Fabric, for example, Fabric API may be required. Server startup logs usually identify missing mandatory dependencies.

Choose a configuration policy

Decide whether FallingTree should be a convenience feature or a strong progression shortcut. Configure break behavior, tools, durability, and tree detection accordingly, then communicate the rules to players.

Test client expectations

The official project can support server-side-focused setups, but configured features may affect whether clients also need the mod. Test with a clean client matching the environment you expect players to use before announcing the rollout.

Update during maintenance windows

Stop the server cleanly, back up, replace the old JAR rather than stacking versions, and read startup logs after the update. Test a tree in a controlled area before reopening normal play.

Download reminder

Use a FallingTree file that matches both your Minecraft version and loader. Our download picker resolves files from the official Modrinth project instead of repackaging the mod.
