Launch the target Minecraft version once, then install the matching Fabric, Forge, or NeoForge loader. Back up important worlds before changing mod setups.
1. Download the matching FallingTree file
Open the download center, select your exact Minecraft version and mod loader, then download the official `.jar` file.
2. Add required dependencies
For Fabric, install Fabric API. For Forge and NeoForge, Cloth Config API is optional if you want the client-side configuration GUI.
3. Put the file in the mods folder
Move the FallingTree `.jar` into your Minecraft `mods` folder. Do not unzip the `.jar`.
%appdata%\.minecraft\mods~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/mods~/.minecraft/mods4. Launch the correct profile
Start the same Fabric, Forge, or NeoForge profile used for the mod. On the title screen, verify your loader is active before opening a world.
5. Test and configure
Chop a natural tree with an axe. If the whole tree does not react, confirm the mod loaded, then check its configuration for tool rules, sneaking behavior, and tree detection.
Troubleshooting
Usually a version mismatch or missing dependency. Recheck Minecraft, loader, mod, and API versions.
Check whether sneaking disables the effect and whether your current tool/log is allowed by configuration.
Some features can be server-side only, while configured speed or enchantment behavior may need matching client setup.
The official project reports a compatibility issue and recommends removing the Wood group from VeinMiner when using both.
